How we check prices

VowMath methodology: How we check venue prices.

We link each public price to its source. We show any math we use. We also tell you which costs still need an answer.

Cost formula

Add the required costs.

base price+guest charges or minimum spending+ceremony, bar, staff, security, and rentals+service fee on the costs named by the source+tax on the source's taxable costs=known total + costs that still need an answer

We apply a fee or tax only to the costs named by the source. A missing cost stays open instead of becoming zero. This total is not a final venue quote.

See where each number came from

From a source

The number comes from an official page, brochure, proposal, or contract. We show the source and the date we checked it.

Calculated

We use known numbers to do the math. For example, we can apply a stated 22% fee to a package price. We show the formula.

Estimate

This is a range or number used when the source is incomplete. We label it as an estimate, not the venue's price.

Still unknown

We could not confirm this cost. We turn it into a question for the venue.

How we check a public page

See the five checks
  1. Check a current official public source.
  2. Link the source and show when VowMath checked it.
  3. Publish only what the source supports.
  4. Say if a price is public, needs a quote, or was not found publicly.
  5. Keep missing capacity, fees, policies, and availability as questions.

A venue does not have to publish a price. Its page can still help you find the official website and see what you need to ask.

Venues cannot pay for rank

Payment does not change the order, which venues we include, or our math. A venue page is not an endorsement. Any future paid item will have a clear label and stay separate from research results.

How we fix errors

We check official sources again over time. Each venue page shows its last check date. We change a published fact only when a current official source supports the change.

  1. We review the claim and its source again.
  2. We correct confirmed errors promptly and update the review date.
  3. We add a warning when important details are old.
  4. A venue claim does not replace published official evidence unless we can document it independently.
